A few weeks ago ACMAPS held our Annual Reception to honor the mature and part-time students who were graduating from York University; and to celebrate the involvement and commitment of Mature Student Mentors, York University Mature Student Organization (YUMSO) executive members and volunteers, and the Student Association for Single Parents (SASP) executive members and volunteers. The reception kicked off with rousing speeches from AVP, Teaching and Learning, Professor Sue Vail, ACMAPS Director Brian Poser, and popular ACMAPS staff members Navinie Samaroo and Karen Tait. Scott Pope, Counsellor and Liaison with Counselling and Disability Services, whose many contributions to ACMAPS include training and support of our volunteer peer mentors and individual consultations with students and staff, was also on hand to celebrate the successes of our mature and part-time students. After the ceremony the attendees had a chance to reconnect and recognize all that had been accomplished in the past year. As evident in the pictures below, we all had a great time at the reception. For those who couldn’t make it to, we look forward to seeing you next year
